Introduction

Throughout art history, certain figures emerge whose creative work transcends conventional artistic expression to engage with prophetic and visionary dimensions. Aleister Crowley (1875-1947) represents a unique case study in this regard, as his artistic production interweaves modernist techniques with esoteric practices and prophetic claims. This thesis examines Crowley's artistic legacy through the creation of the first catalogue of all known surviving works, analysing how his visual work embodied and transmitted his influential spiritual and philosophical worldview.
